  The islanders steal your footwear before making you walk this trail. It's a path littered with gravel and broken glass. I got very emotional.

  Wow! What a rush! The Trail of Tears is the best emotional roller-coaster on Pitcairn. The exquisitly themed queue gets the bottom lip quivering early on with a few choice images of wilting flowers, wisened old folk, and kids-growing-up-too-fast. Moving to the loading area we were lifted by the tones of bagpipes being played as the sun fades over the hasty funeral of fallen soldiers on the battlefield. Before we knew it, we were whisked through sepia-toned panoramas of times gone by whilst being serenaded on mouth organ by a lonely cowboy with a thousand-yard stare and bagful of regrets. The ride ended with a perspective of my own life and the opportunities I've squandered. I'll admit that The Trail of Tears will not be for everyone, but as far as my party was concerned, there wan't a dry eye in the group.

  Pros: few tourists Cons: Spirit airlines doesn't have one way flights here. I had to smuggle myself onto a cargo ship to Auckland and swim for 300 miles to get here. Surprising lack of native americans. When I told my coworkers I went to the Pitcairn Islands they had no idea what I was talking about, so I didn't really have anything to talk about, unlike Carol from accounting who went to Key West.
